Is Acupuncture An Alternative Treatment to IBS?

Many people suffer from chronic joint pain. Joint pain could be as ancient as human history dating back to the very first caveman! To date, there exist many conventional relief and treatment options. There is no shortage of conventional therapy. However, these conventional treatments to address the problems associated to joint pain tend to be expensive and ineffective at times.

The ongoing and vast search for non conventional therapeutic treatment for back pain relief has resulted in many areas of study and interest. These are therapeutic massage, mind body spa therapy, acupuncture and herbal supplements to build up the body joints. This is evident in many Chinese medicinal concoctions which promise to relief chronic back pain through intake of certain herbal essences. Of these, acupuncture stands out among the more promising field of non conventional approach to relief back pain. How is this so?

Acupuncture can be briefly defined as an alternative treatment through the use of the insertion and the manipulation of needles into the body. The insertion of these very fine needles is directed to acupuncture point or called vital point or acu-point in the body. Acu-points are sensitive parts of the body. These are primarily stimulated by use of the needles in the course of an acupuncture treatment. A person can be totally immobilized through the insertion and manipulated of a single needle to these acu-points. Such is the remarkable effect of acupuncture. For acute back pain relief, these needles are inserted to respective vital points in the back to shock, desensitize and numb the area, thus providing instant quick relief.

Acupuncture has been practiced in various Far East countries since ancient times. In China, acupuncture traditionally form an integral part of the Traditional Chinese Medicine. The theory recognizes that there is an inner energy called “Qi”. Back pain or as a matter of fact, any joint pain is regarded a physical dysfunction. In any healthy body this “Qi” should flow smoothly throughout the body. If it stagnates, the body system breaks down and as a result pains occur. Acupuncture has the effect of breaking down all these blockages in the body through the insertion of needles, thus allowing the inner energy to flow smoothly.

Other than reliving back pain and many other joint pain problems, acupuncture is also claimed to have the capability to treat diseases and promotes general health. Hence, it is also a procedure applicable to a person of any ages, both men and women. It boasts to have the effectiveness in treating infertility as well.

In pain management, the result achieved could be far greater employing both the conventional treatment complimented by alternative therapy.
